Simon is chief executive officer of Clara Pensions, the member-first consolidator of defined benefit (DB) pension schemes. Over the last 15 months, Clara has completed the UK’s first three superfund transactions, transferring nearly 22,000 members of the Sears, Debenhams and Wates schemes into Clara and starting their journeys towards a more secure, insured future. Simon is a highly respected life insurance executive, with over 30 years’ experience in the industry. His most recent executive role prior to Clara was the group corporate development director and group chief actuary at the FTSE 100 insurer Phoenix Group. He previously led the M&A teams within resolution and resolution operations, both of which grew into FTSE 100 businesses.
